Fever is a common symptom of an ear infection, although it is not always present. Trouble hearing, sleeping ear tugging, change in appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea are also symptoms that can indicate an ear infection. For many children, they are usually more fussy than usual and clingy. At the area around the ear piercing, look for any swelling, puss, or redness that may indicate signs of an infection. In the days after your visit to our clinic, be sure to keep this area clean.
